In 2017, the scientific article “A Question of Defeatability”, by master Simone Marins, won the second edition of the Miguel Galvão Teles Award. The results were presented in the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
The high quality of the candidate works also motivated the jury to decide to award two more honorable mentions
The Miguel Galvão Teles Prize aims to remember and celebrate one of the most outstanding figures in Portuguese Law, accepting original works in the areas of, namely, Constitutional Law and International Law.
This award is given by the Academic Association of the Faculty of Law of Lisbon (AAFDL), by the Institute of Legal-Political Sciences (ICJP) and by the Miguel Galvão Teles Institute.
The jury was chaired by Jorge Miranda who coloborated to wrote the Portuguese Constitution and professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, and also included Miguel Nogueira de Brito and Rui Patrício, from Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados (MLGTS).
